My mother purchased this TV at Best Buy and after about a year and a half we turned the TV off and it wouldn't come back on. I removed the back plate and could hear an audible "chirp" from inside the TV. It is a consistent chirp and after the TV is unplugged the chirping slows as if it is powering down. The TV was working fine before but now nothing responds. Any insight into the cause of this would be greatly appreciated.

you should test the horizontal output transistor. if it,s shorted replace it. it might be okay after that if not other components may need to be replaced. GoodLuck!

This is a ctc195 chassis, with that symtom its sound like the horizontal output transistor has shorted. This model my also have a defective flyback transformer as well. I AM LOST ON THIS PLANET, SO I WILL HELP YOU WITH ELECTRONICS

When PTK195 chirps this almost always means the High voltage transformer ( Flyback) has destroyed it self and taken the Horizontal Output Tansistor ( H.O.T.) Once again in these critical curcuits use only RCA Guenuine parts or it will cost ya
