Goodmans W325NST E/W fault Can't Post

I have a Goodmans W325NST tv with an East/West fault. It has the FPC2001 twist Chassis. The screen width has shrunk and is pinched in at the sides.

probably the east/west correction diodes are faulty

which diodes are these, part no's? tested various components in the circuit, i do appear to have a short across R167 and L19, could this cause the fault

the tv has gone faulty again, it appears R114 is getting burning hot to the touch, what could be causing this, TR15 has been replaced with an equivalent part just slightly higher rated

The shut off speed is wrong, If you replaced diodes they need to be fast switching, or your transistor is too slow.

replaced D21 and D22, parts came from a tv repair shop, will replace TR15 back to the old one, i presume this was ok, now also left with just a bright white line in middle of screen

I would question what you are doing. You started out with a pin correction issue, now you have killed the vertical scan. I can find no lagical connection, well there is a vague issue but highly unlikely. The most common issue is you did something that you are not telling us about, so what are you doing? Rob

Re: [PurpleRoadie] Goodmans W325NST E/W fault [In reply to] Can't Post

check you have about 25-35 volts supply on one pin of the vertical ic which is on a finned heatsink near the flyback transformer. if not then the feed comes from the flyback via a low value resistor and diode in series. if the voltage is there then the ic has probably died and needs to be changed.BTW did this occur after the other parts were changed or did the tv work for a while then fail again?

looks like the ic had croaked could only get 16.7V on pin 7 of i/c and 10V at one side of R169. and for further complications no screen at all just a beep form the board, so now 1 fault has turned into 3, help

i think you are getting in too deep and things are going from bad to worse.take it in for repair or cut your losses and dump it.
