HELP..Lines On Screen Can't Post

Please could someone help me with an issue regarding my television.

I have a JVC television, model number "AV-25SX1EK" and when its switched on there are white lines across the top of the screen. This occurs in both 4:3 and 16:9 mode and intermittently the picture will also flicker, turning black. Is this a problem that can be repaired, or am i better off chucking it.

The foldover at the top of the screen is caused by bad electrolytic capacitors in the vertical circuit and the flicker is probably caused by a bad solder joint. Both problems are repairable but you need to consider the coat of repairs as apposed to the cost of a new set.
