High pitched whistle, Zenith 27" Can't Post

A high pitched whistle is coming from my 27* Zenith (cable), regardless of channel. It is intermittent and not affected by muting. Any suggesitons? Thanks

Probably something in the horizontal section.
Have a look at this page:

you will possibly find its a small transformer rattling causing hi pitched whistle, i used to find it by pressing a screwdriver on the suspected item whilst its in working mode, i have seen them with a matchstick pressed between the bobbin and the lamination then glued the suspect transformer i think is line drive is only about 1" square, dont attempt repair if you are not used to tv repairs as their is hi voltage in the older tvs. good luck

A quick and easy fix is to spray the suspect transformer with a clear acrylic spray.

Take the transformer out. tie a thread to it and dip it in a can of polyurothane and leave submerged for several minuits. take out and hang above can to drip . brush excess off and let dry. Small transformers with ferrite or metal bases a small squirt of silastic between the base and board. works every time. Yokes that whistle whilst with a manufacturer we tried painting and spraying, that did not work. dipping did. Problem was it takes about a week to have the smell reduced enough.
