Hitachi 27CX3BC- screen starts reduce size vertically and gets distorted Can't Post

I have Hitachi 27cX3BC. Lately I have experienced that part of the screen starts to go blank from top and I get a bright white line in the middle and then picture for 6''. Bottom also gets blanked out. It does not happen all the time. Is it still salvageable or repair cost will be greater than the new TV.

Any help is appreciated.

You are probably experiencing bad solder joint in the vertical circuit which is making intermittent contact. If you are handy with a soldering iron, it is an easy fix that you can do yourself. I would just touch up all of the solder joints on the vertical IC and that should do it. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
