Hitachi 46f500. Powering up issues

Ok here goes. Have a hitachi 46f500 rear projection. The problem I have is when I turn it on red light on front comes on get a light blue screen stays on for a few seconds the screen flickers then the unit shuts off. Have tried leaving it unplugged for a day with same results. Could anyone give me some info. Thanks
