Hi,
My 53SDX89BA just had the picture go out a couple of days ago. The picture just went but the sound was still on. I turned the TV off, but when i turned the TV back on, no picture and the sound was muted. The sound will still work, but you must turn up the volume after turning the TV on.
I removed the rear cover and cleaned all the dust out with some compressed air. I've had the TV unplugged for about 20 min while cleaning. When I plugged it back in and turned it on, it had the same problems and symptoms. I also noticed a red LED was flashing and the LED was labeled "protect led".
I have since tried leaving the TV unplugged for almost 4 hrs, but still no change.
Any ideas of things to check or do before cailing for a repair tech.?
