Hitachi C5068FS 220v to 110v switch? Can't Post

I need to switch my Hitachi C5068FS from 220-volt to 110-volt. How? This model is a 50-inch, multi-system, rear projection television made to be sold outside of the US, but the salesman assured me it was easy to switch to 110-volts and that they would do it for free before I moved back to the US. Well, now I'm here and realize that I forgot to get it switched before I made the move. Grrrr!

Someone, somewhere has BOUND to have switched one of these TV's to 110v. I've tried looking on the Hitachi website, but to get info like that, I'd need a Hitachi repairman username and password. Any help out there?

Thanks kindly,
Mark

Re: [pleasants] Hitachi C5068FS 220v to 110v switch? [In reply to] Can't Post

BlushOk... after blowing the fuse on a step-up transformer trying to see if the TV even worked (the fuse blew becaue it was a 100 watt transformer and the TV is significantly higher) I did learn something.

Althought the salesman told me the TV needed to be internally switched, and details printed on the back of the set list the TV as a 220-volt model, on a whim, I plugged the TV (with an adapter) into a 110-volt outlet. And quickly learned the the TV is actually AUTO SWITCHING between 110-volt and 220-volt.

Imagine that. Egg on my face and all that stuff. Best wishes to whoever reads this thread.
