How To Access Hitachi Auto Setup?	Can't Post

Sister-in-law's Hitachi 40" LCD has band (EPOP?) across bottom of screen - keeps cycling through TV's features. I assume it's in "Store Mode", which apparently wasn't changed in auto setup at first power-on. Menu displays auto setup item but won't allow it to be selected. So how do I access it and/or get rid of EPOP? TIA for any help. <br>

Forgot to mention, TV is connected to Direct TV, if that makes any difference.

Probably not - but I think the menu/setup is the same on most/all models

Worked on "a Hitachi" in 2005:

"press menu and channel up buttons on front at same time."

It is not a good idea for a novice to get into the service menu because sometimes making adjustments there can lead to irreperable damage. It might be cheaper in the long run to take it to qualified tech.

Exactly. Per the manual that came with the TV, the auto-setup runs the first time the TV is powered-on. So every "novice" who turns on his TV gets into that menu. One of the selections in it is Home or Store (demo) mode. I didn't set up the TV but whoever first powered it up did NOT select Home mode. I'm just trying to get back into the auto-setup menu so I can change that.

I'll try the menu/channel up. Thanx.
