IR problems with two tv's Can't Post

Ok here is the problem. My wife works in a Nursing home and she has two residents in a room and the TV's sit next to each other one is a Vizio and the other is a Hisense. The IR command that the remotes send for the power button are the same so anytime one person turns the TV on or off it works both TV's. Is there a way to use a universal with the Vizio and change the power command on it through the tv?
I understand just getting a universal would not fix the problem because it would still be sending out the same command.
thanks in advance for any help.

wausman;.....

Short answer , no....

This is a VERY rare occassion & problem !!!!
The reason is that ALL TVs , etc , that are designed to recieve commands process them in the microprocessor...
Some companys have a micro that can be reset from commercial to consumer use...
I would check & see if the sets there in the home are resetable...
See if one OR both are specially made for commercial use...
Then one of them may be reset so the problem goes away...
The only thing is that you would have to either get a different remote OR re-program one of the ones you already have....
I'm not familiar with Vizio or Hisense , but , it looks like they may be made by the same company....I'm not sure about that...

Anyway , GOOD LUCK....Sly....
I hope this helped....Smile....

This is a proceedure (Changeing the TV format) that IF it can be done needs to be done by a qualified tech....
Start by getting the model numbers & contacting them for further info about converting from commercial to consumer use or vice versa....

GOOD LUCK...Sly...

IT does not matter how many remotes you buy the tv's are made by the same manufacturer and use the same frequencies

Re: [shadetree] IR problems with two tv's [In reply to] Can't Post

I was also wondering what the microprocessor has to do with it.

The remote is only the vehicle that carries the command to the TV via IR.

One would think the IR just needs to be a different frequency (that's obvious).

I don' think the microprocessor has the capabilities of changing the IR carrier frequency.

Why would they spend all that time and effort into installing a program to allow the option of changing that?

The odds are against that being a widespread problem..probably 1 in 10,000

Ron,

Why don't you explain how the command from the remote reaches it's destination?
