I have an Envision 19 in Television that has a problem Can't Post

i cannot tune in channels anymore. the tv is cable ready and will pick up channels in the 60's but not anything lower. i tried using the vhf uhf hook up but still nothing. my son uses the tv to watch and play video games on. i tried the tv on another hook up in a different room that i know is working and still nothing. when my son tries to play his PS2 it doesnt work either, just a bunch of snow. when we tried the cable it would not stay on the lower channels just kept changing channels like it was serching for a signal. im thinking a tuner problem but not sure.
any advice would be appreciated on the problem and how to fix, without going the repair shop high rates route.

thanks

I'm not familiar with that TV, but a couple of suggestions.
If you have an"autotune" option from the R/C try that.
Also, have you tried using the VCR? If you still get snow with the VCR,
connect the audio and video cables directly into the TV if it has these jacks,
and put the VCR on "line input".
I was also going to suggest that you unplug the TV for about 5 minutes,
but you said you moved it to another room.

I just realized that you won't have to put the VCR on "line input",
but you have to select a different input to the TV.

Are you able to connect the VCR through the audio
and video cables, not through the RF connector?

Alan,

this tv doesnt have audio visual hookups on the back, just the rf cable hookup and the uhf vhf hook ups, unless there is another way to do it.

thanks

Do you have an autotune option on the R/C?

well we had the tv in storage for 8 months and when we pulled it out an d fired it up it worked fine. only problem was we left the batteries in the R/C and they leaked so it was not usable so we threw it away. can you do a autotune without the remote. and is autotune the same as autosearch? i tried going through the little panel on front of set but couldnt find an autosearch button unless i just missed it.

thanks

I'm not sure if auto-tune and auto-search are the same.
I would guess that they are.
If you want a R/C for that set, go to http://www.remotecentral.com/features/remotes.htm.
