I would like to know how to safetly discharge my big screens power Can't Post

UnsureI would like to know how to safetly discharge my big screens power. I have to replace the hv splitter and I ordered one online and it will not be here for about 4 days from now and I was already in the tv ( rca model p46732ba ) and I didnt know that there was enough amps to kill me? I dont know alot about the tv just basic wiring and I do unplug it and I push the power button 3 or more times thinking this would work, but is there a safer way that you could tell me that I would under stand. Will leaving this set for the 3-5 days unplugged help? Please reply?

Thanks Crazy

Please email any info to me at esales@highland.net

you do not have to discharge projection tubes they discharge very well by themselves they shouldn't shock you

Ok, I got my HV Splitter installed. It wasnt to bad. I left the tv setting unplugged for the few days it took the replacement part to come in. and I was able to handle the HV (MAIN) red splitter wires with no problem. I know that it does still have power in the supply that runs through the unit even once it is unplugged though (i could hear a click 1 time even after being unplugged). I unplugged the set and pushed on the power buttons a few times and the pushed on them more once I was ready to install. I hope that this helps. Just remember that if you are replacing the HV Splitter DO NOT throw away the old one! You have to use the small chip ( board ) that is attached to the old one. New ones do not contain this! I recomined to make a small diagram of the wire layout and mark each of the wires placement. ( They should have small tags ( labels ) on each wire with numbers or names of colors. I hope that this helps someone, As knowing this info could have made this job ALOT easier on me. Thank You and Good Luck.
