JVC AV32230 Wont turn on - White line - ADVICE	Can't Post

Hello to all,

Great post, just looking for some advice on a JVC AV32230

Symtoms:

1. TV turn on, hear sound
2. White line horizontal from right to left
3. TV goes to a like safety mode, timer light blinking.

Does this evertime when unplugged, and plugged in again.

but wanted to know if there are any other parts I should know about before I venture into the TV. I have found the IC421, and the solder points seem ok, will redo them just to be sure, and the IC looks like in good condition, no cracks, etc. (should I replace just to be sure???) Is there anything else I need change just to be sure since I am already in there???

Advice greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

The only way that you can really be sure if the IC is bad is by replacement. It is not that expensive and relatively easy to replace. Before you do that though, check for 28 volts on pin 6. If that is missing, the B+ fusible resistor (I think it is R542) may be open. OR both conditions may exist e.g. the IC shorted and blew the resistor. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
