Jvc 42" lcd tv black shadows, polariser shrink?

I have had this problem fora long time now, its mostly noticeable on white or light solid backgrounds. I always thought its something spilled in the back light but recently saw people say it could be the polariser film shrinking and wobbling uneven. Changing the polariser sheet seems like a hard long job, is it worth it? Has anybody done it?
