LG 47LM7600-UA with Horizontal lines Can't Post

Hello everyone,

I have an LG 47LM7600-UA. 47 inch 3D tv. I bought it 2 1/2 years ago with a 2 year warranty and it is just now having problems (horizontal lines) 6 months after the extended warranty expired, go figure.

There are horizontal lines that are present no matter what source I am using. They go all the way across and are spaced out the same distance vertically.

I was hoping someone could tell me by looking at the picture in the link provided if this is something I could fix by changing out a board (like power board, main board, t con board), bad capacitors, or if it is something like a panel problem (which I've read isn't worth fixing because of the cost involved).

This is a closeup of the Netflix icon in Roku. They appear most obvious with the white background.

Thank you for your time,
Ben

This may be a long-shot but you could check & clean the ends of the two flat ribbons leading from the main signal board to the Tcon board. Your TV might not have the typical Tcon board, your Tcon may be built right into the screen driver board... If you disconnect these ribbons & clean them with some rubbing alcohol & a cotton swab that might get rid of those lines? I've repaired a lot TVs that way before but they always had vertical lines & not horizontal lines (that's why I said it may be a long-shot).

If you decide to try this 'be careful' with the clips that hold the LVD ribbon cables in place because they are very delicate & can be broken easily. You might want to check out a few videos on YouTube to see how these clips are released; once released the ribbon can slide out of the socket.... Basically there's a little clip that needs to be lifted to release the tension that holds the ribbon cable in place. It's that clip that is the delicate part. Here is a link to a video that shows how to remove those ribbon cables; this video has nothing to do with your TV I'm only including it here for demonstration purposes to show how to remove the clips (it's more towards the end of the video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aInbxbICue4 You only need to clean the copper side of the ribbon cable & not the socket; the socket will be fine.

If cleaning this cable does not fix your TV then I would guess you have a bad signal board or Tcon board or Bad Panel. It's a much greater chance it's the Tcon/panel than the signal board.
