LG 55UF7600 sound but no video

I have a LG 55UF7600 that has working sound but the picture is just a dark blueish gray color, the back light works fine. Based on what I've read around the internet the problem is either a bad t-con or main board but I can't find any info on how to test them to figure out which one needs to be replaced.
