LG 60PG30FD has a black square

Hi
I have an LG 60" (60pg30fd) and when i turn it on it looks fine. I can watch it for a fair while. Maybe a few hrs. After a while though it gets square shimmering which almost looks like it is pixel blocking but eventually leads to a black square which is approximately 1/8 of the screen.

Anyone seen this before? Is it worth fixing?
