I'd have to see a picture of the cable to see if it is repairable. Many of them are but you have to be a very good at fine soldering! I've done it many times but it mostly depends on how many stands of the cable has and what type of cable it is. The main things to be careful on is scraping off the enamel so you have a clean bare surface to solder to, also use a tin-lead solder since it flows much better than the new lead-free solder. Use a good fine solder iron and make sure to not use too much heat. Good luck! Here are a couple of good videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwvelNOHioY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zog-Rh-bXa8 Note - There are some other easier ways to do this also, without using the fine wire and just jumping the gap with solder, but the method you use depends on the type of ribbon cable you have, the type of break you have, and the space available on the cable itself.
