LG 65UF770V - two failed within days!

Incredibly frustrated as both LG 65UH770v sets have failed after 14 months, within days of each other!
Set one - can see all the menus, icons etc, even the media player controls, track names etc - but the screen displays "white noise" on all inputs (inc HDMI and USB media). even using the setup menu shows the text but the graphics are displayed as noise. audio works fine and the TV detects the input resolution and displays it on screen. checked all internal connections and reseated them all. picture test shows white noise but the "can you see this picture properly?" question is fine!
Set two - whole screen has very thin black "train tracks" horizontally down the screen. two very close to each other, then a gap then another two etc. all functions work, but has the same symptom on menus as well as inputs.
