LG LCD TV 37LD420 Can't Post

HI, I have a 37" LG TV.
Right side of the screen is black and the other side looks a bit dark as well.
When I opened up the back of the TV I did only see the back light on the left side. Right side was off, I swapped the Power between left and right, then i got light on right side an no light on left side, so the back light seems to be ok, seems like one cap is blown on the Power bord, is it enough to replace it or would you replace anything else as well?

Many thanks

Try just the cap first.

Most large US distributors appear to be 'out of stock' on the 5pfd 6KV ceramic disc capacitors you're requesting.

However, as you learned in school, (yeah, right Tongue), TWO 10pfd 6KV in series will equate. (Encapsulate in a large dab of silicone after installing to prevent center splice from arcing/corona)

Is it safe to just replace one 5 pf with a 10 pf instead?

Again. A 10pfd in series with a 10pfd equals a 5pfd.

If you must go with single capacitor(s) (to avoid the splicing/encapsulating?), replacing BOTH the working (the one below the one you have circled) and the burnt capacitors with the SAME value is probably more important. You can probably get away with any two (a 3.3 & 3.3; or a 4.7 & 4.7, etc.) in the 3.3pfd - 10 pfd range. Just be sure they are rated 6,000 volts (or higher).
