LG LCD starts by itself and activates all menus, remote is disabled Can't Post

I have a 42" LG model number 42LG30. When connected to power supply it switches on by itself and goes through all menu's. pressing the remote does not do anything, the button on the TV are also blocked except the power button. If I hold onto the power button for 30 sec it turns off and I can use the remote to turn it on, but then again it switches off and turns back on and goes through all menu's by itself. I removed the back of the tv and removed whatever little dust was accumulated, but still no luck.

If someone had a similar issue and changing one of the parts will fix the issue please let me know. I saw a few main boards on Ebay for 50 bucks.

Thanks in advance

Your TV is possessed!! ... This will be a problem with the front panel buttons (Channel up / down, Volume up / down, Menu. etc). If they are physical buttons that you press then one or more of the buttons are faulty (likely the menu button). If you want to save some money & just use the remote from now on you could disconnect the front panel board that contains these buttons; there will be a plug on that board to disconnect.

I have an LG 37LE5300 that is doing the exact same thing. Can we just disconnect the front button assembly or do we need to replace it? I found the buttons and remote sensor pretty inexpensive online, but are they difficult to replace?

Yes you should be able to unplug the board containing the buttons & that would do the trick. The buttons are not that hard to replace but there are so many sizes & shapes of tact switches you might have problems finding the exact switch. There are used boards on eBay for under $10 for your TV. This should be the board number EAX41665301 but you can double check it... If this was my TV I'd just disconnect the board & just use the remote; how often (if ever) do you even use the front buttons?

Thank you so much! I was able to unplug that board and it works perfectly now. :)
