LG OLED - POOR off-air resolution Can't Post

I loved my 6 year old LG 60 inch Plasma. We mainly watch off-air TV channels and the 1080i on the old plasma are very crisp. But as soon as I setup my new LG 65 inch OLED65B8STB I was disappointed with the HD channels resolution. It's as though the IF (intermediate frequency) circuitry is way off tune, that is if there is one in these modern digital TV's (I'm an old school TV technician/serviceman). Everything else about the TV is great, eg, the 4K test video on Youtube is brilliant. As a test: When I watch TV channels through my Panasonic set top box there is a noticeable improvement in resolution which brings it very close to the crispness of the old Plasma.

Do you think this could be a fault that can be fixed or poor circuitry design?
Cheers, Tony
