LG OLED 55E6P - broken and crack Can't Post

Hello, i have a 13 month old LG 55e6p. One day last week we went to turn the TV on and it didn't work. The screen does not come on at all and no sound can be heard. Red light is on and doesn't change or flash in any way when we attempt to turn the tv on via the remote or power button. We also noticed a dime sized crack on the upper left side of the screen. Presumably our 2 or 4 year old threw something at it and broke it. However we can't be sure if the crack is connected to the fact that it won't work at all.

Here's the question: we were quoted a repair cost of around $500 to get it working, but we have no guarantees what the crack will look like. Will it be barely noticeable like a small crack in a cellphone or a black spot with no pixels? If it's the latter I'd say not to gamble the $500 and put it towards a new TV. What would you do? (Besides never buying such an expensive TV with toddlers around again:)). Thanks!

From the experience of repairing flat panels, if you spend money on repairs and it will work. Then over time from heating, the crack can grow into a web of many cracks. So do not waste money on it. (Google Translate.)
