LG Plasma RU-42PZ61 vertical color lines

I have a question regarding my LG Plasma TV RU-42PZ61.
The initial problem started with two vertical red bars ~2" on each side that occasionally would go away.
By poking around I found to be a possible cold solder joint on the control board (6871QCH038A); by wedging a piece of wood behind the board it would work ok for quite a while.
Until one day the image deteriorated completly. I ordered a replacement for this board w/ a different part # (6871QCH060Q) . I was told that this was a new redesign that replaced the original one. (??)
The replacement board did not fix the problem entirely; now it displays no visible image with vertical lines of all colors.
(When I switch to another input that has no signal, the screen reduces to a narrow vertical strip of about 6 or 8"). Possibilities: 1- the board replaced not being compatible Or 2 -another board was also damaged?
If so, which board would be based on the symptoms?
(Voltages on P801/2/3 of power supply board (APS208) appear to be correct; not sure about Vr is 60VDC ??)
