Magnavox - Will not turn on Can't Post

I have a 1998 Magnavox 27" TV that recently quit on me. At first the picture went out but the sound was fine. Now the TV will not stay on when it is powered up. The Model # is XS2754 C101, Chassis #27B800-7562. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Re: [Rob Purdy] Magnavox - Will not turn on [In reply to] Can't Post

I have one of these on my bench right now that I am waiting for a vertical output IC which is on order. The set will start up and shut right back down which seems to be a common problem with Maggies which were manufactured around that time. Many times, when the vertical IC fails, it will take the + and - 13 volt B+ diodes and their associated fusible resistors with it. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.

I have found that you have to get the Vertical IC from Phillips-Magnavox. The generic IC of this type won't work. the set is running with such close tolerences on this IC the Generics usually only last 30 minutes.
