Magnavox 37MD359B Flashing screen Can't Post

I have a Magnavox 37MD359B which I picked up from a neighbor,It turns on you can change channels for a few seconds then the screen just starts flashing different colors. It will not let you open menu, change volume, turn it on or off either. Im just wondering what is causing it this and how I can fix it.

The neighbor (or his kids/pets {with the possible exception of any fish}) put the set into a factory mode.

Just do the same as they did in the same order. Cool

Going totally off memory here. Use arrow buttons on the remote and IIRC up, down, left, right. It is definitely a combination of 4 buttons, the exact combination I'm not completely sure of.

Well the people lost the remote cause they were using there cable box remote so i could try to still get a universal remote to work on it.

It requires the P&F or service remote.

If the arrow buttons on a universal worked, then it is possible, but I've never tried.

Do you think updating firmware could just get it out?

No.

It is stuck in factory test mode. This will flash a full screen of green, red, blue, white, and some other colors.

I'm assuming that is what you are seeing.

The remote WAS needed to put it into Factory mode...
