Magnavox MTV68 (4:3 CRT), wavy lines problem Can't Post

Hi all,

Subject telly has started playing up, same problem with TV and AV sources. Picture can still be made out, and OSD seems unaffected - example below:

I've opened it and checked for burnt or obviously visibly broken parts, checked push-fit connection are good, and twiddled a couple of pots (which turned out to be H/V stretch/squeeze. This is where my ability with TV's ends however, so frustrated at this point I gave it a good whack. No help.

I'm reasonably able with a soldering iron, and can identify most electronic components - does anyone have any suggestions before it gets binned?

Many thanks in advance.

Alex

Was the set dropped or otherwise abused lately. This appears to be the signs of a slipped shadow mask in the CRT. If so, it cannot be fixed.

Thanks for responding, no - no physical shock caused the failure. I should clarify, the wavy lines move, they aren't static, if that makes any difference?
