Memorex MT1192A TV only switches between 2 channels Can't Post

So, we have this older TV, a 2001 Memorex TV, model number MT1192A. We don't have a remote for it. But the channels are really weird... The numbers switch only between channels 3 and 4, even when you just click channel up or just channel down. It can't go to any other channels (5,6,7, etc...) or to input, AV, or anything like that, so we also can't hook up a DVD player, game system, etc. We've got it hooked up to basic cable. Channel 4 comes in perfectly fine, channel 3 is just static.

So, basically, we can watch 1 channel, and that it. We can't figure out whats wrong with it! Has anyone ever had this issue before? How do we fix it?

More details: I live in a dorm room, and the school provides basic cable. I have it plugged into a special little box on the wall were its suppose to be. The other TV my old roommate had, about the same age as this one, worked fine this way. But this one does not. we dont have a converter box, antenna, or anything like that

More details: It has the yellow and white plugs (sorry I don't know what their called) that you plug a DVD player, game system or the like into.

More details: its not that the TV can switch to higher channels that are then blank. It literally just switches between the numbers 3 and 4. Nothing else. Not even static channels, JUST 3 and 4. It's very bizarre.

RTFM!
It's just operating the way it is designed to (and the last person with the remote left it)
