Mitsu VS 5043 dancing lines and no picture?

Bought the Mitsubishi VS5043 about 7 years ago and all was well until last week. Now the picture will disappear and the screen will display green/white/red lines dancing on the screen. The audio is fine and when I turn the TV off for a few seconds and then back on the problem will remedy itself for a few minutes. Time for a new TV?
