Mitsubishi 46" problems

I just got a 5yr old Mitsubishi 46" big screen with 3 projectors. I got it from a friend. They said it works, but sometimes will NOT stay on, and will need a rest.. for about 2hrs then you can turn it back on for a few more hours. It's in A+ physical shape. I took the cover off the back and noticed a good amount of dust all over everything including the heat sinks and projectors. I'll use compressed air to gently blow the dust off the boards and stuff. what should a "check" cost for this TV? any idea what's causing it?
