Mitsubishi CS 2611R (White Horizontal Line) Can't Post

First Sign of Problem: The top 2 ~ 3 inches of the picture started to fold back down (upside down) over the main picture.

The Problem: A week later the entire picture blank except for a white horizontal line.

I would like to fix the TV myself. If I had a schematic with troubleshooting tips I could try and repair.

It sounds very much like you have a defective Vertical I.C. Deflection chip. This model uses a LA7836 I.C. which should be very reasonable in cost. You probably wont need a schematic, just look at all the chips on the board and identify it by the printing on the chip. You will need to remove the old chip by unsoldering it...all the pins before you can remove it. Then replace and solder in the new one after applying a bit of silicone heat sink compound to the back side of the chip. That should do it. If you have trouble give me a shout by email. Wayman

Thanks for the advice.

I will get the IC chip next week and try the repair.

I will let you know how the repair goes.
