Mitsubishi TS-5545 Rear Porjection TV

Regarding a Mitsubishi TS-5545 Rear Projection TV that turns off while viewing (no power lamp) and when trying to turn back on the power lamp goes out after 2-3 secs.: it's more than likely the voltage regulator (an Integrated Circuit), IC900, part no. 267P129O10, STR-M6811. However, this part is no longer available from Mitsubishi (I'm told) and if it was, probably wouldn't work. The replacement regulator is from Hitachi and it is: STR-M6811-A (the "A" suffix is essential in order to work). It costs about 30-40$ and should be available from a TV IC parts house. This fixed mine with the above described symptoms originally posted by DMLINCO o/a 03/30/2004. The TV worked perfectly since I bought it in 1996 and failed in 02/2008! This repair is a component level repair that requires solder work on the Main PCB.
