The original problem was no picture, but the channel information, etc. would display, and the sound was OK. I removed the video board and found the following: capacitors c2a6, c295, c297, c551 and c257 were leaking and had to be replaced. All were 10uf@50v. Two of the caps leaked through to the foil side of the board and destroyed several traces, which had to be repaired. Note that one trace had several hair line cracks running through it that were barely noticeable to the naked eye. I also found and repaired cold solder joints at r505, r542, r543, r544, r507, and r510. When checking for leaking caps and cold solder joints, I found it helpful to use a strong magnifying glass and plenty of light. Anyway, I consider myself lucky to be able to repair this set without a service manual. The tips I found on this forum were the key to success. Total cost of repair was $10 parts and 5 hours labor. Thanks all. Russ
