Mitsubishi WS-55857 screen???? Can't Post

I was looking at buying a WS-55857 55" tv from a friend of mine. The protective screen it has has alot of scratches. I was wondering if these screens can be replaced and if so roughly how much are they? Also are they easy to change or does a professional need to do it? Thanks......

If it's what Mitsubishi calls the diamond shield that is scratched the answer is yes, It is easy to replace. Just don't buy it from Mitsubishi. You can go to most plastic suppliers and get one cut to fit a 55 inch screen for around $50. I used to recommend the 2 mm non glare polycarbonate for my customers that wanted to put them on. The factory screen protector is about 300.

It's held in with snap in border plastic on the sides if I remember correctly. They are very sensetive to picking up dust and hair, so be patient when you install it.

If it's the Lenticular (ridged) Screen, that is another bag of worms that has a high dollar cost.
