Mitsubishi vs-5071...I Need Help!! Can't Post

Hello folks...please help!

The video as gone out on my Mitsubishi vs-5071, and I know nothing about this stuff. The tv comes on as normal, the audio is normal, but NO video.

I was told, by a non-expert, that I need a video chip replacement....in other words, the chip for the video needs to be replaced!

1st-- Is this true?

2nd-- If it is true, then what is the name of the chip, where do I order it, and how much does it cost?

Please respond, ASAP!! Thank you!

Check the Vertical IC. It's towards the back and is numbered as IC401. Check and make sure the Ic is soldered on all legs. This is a known problem on just about all MItsi's made prior to 2000. On later models the convergence Ic's solder connections crack and cause problems.

One more thing, I must have tired when i replied earlier. The symtom you describe is classic PIP board problems. Search this site for a PIP board bypass. it's teh easiest way to cure that particular problem.
