Not only did this thread start back in 2003 but you all seam to be way off base, Sure these all may be Mitsubishi's but they very from small CRT based to big projection sets. different chassis and there for a different set. If you are looking for the Magic Mitsubishi wand that fixes all sets it simply does not exist. True all TVs suffer from bad solder connections, components heat up and cool down at different rates this causes solder cracks and will cause a intermittent connection and this will shut down the set. But many times when this happens it also will destroy components. And if we could tell by simply looking at a part and not using Test equipment like scopes, digi voms or a ERS meatier. our job would be a hell of a lot simpler. When we say check the Ic 601 in the power supply we mean is the voltage on the input there? is the feed back loop in tact, is the capacitor that filters the feed back loop OK? Is it sending a pulse out to the main transformer windings? Is it properly grounded? Is it receiving the feed back pulse from the secondary to make sure it is regulating voltage? So if you state Yeah I checked it, you probably meen you found it and it looks good, but does it work? Mike Owens Lead tech Maier TV Spokane Wa
