Mitsubishi model #ck 3530r shuts itself off Can't Post

The subject line is pretty self explanatory. The tv won't stay on, if I use the remote or the button on the tv, it just turns itself off again.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Mad I am having the same problem with my VS-5075. All I am reading is the unit is dead. Can anybody provide some live saving advice. My problem is similar. Turn the set on, it goes on and some crazy colors wave around and then it shuts down.

I have exactly the same problem as all of you. I have a WS 55807 big screen projection TV. I have 2 possibles, but what the heck do I know? I'm not a tech, just someone who received this TV by people who received it from someone else. They couldn't tell me anything about it.
1) power supply is bad. And ya think that for such an expensive TV, these should have a longer life than 8 years like mine.
This is a quote from another message in this forum under Mitsubishi which I copied for research...
2) open up the back of the set and look for IC401. this is the vertical IC, it is a single row chip about an inch long and and has I believe 14 legs in a single row. Check this and make sure it is soldered onto the board. They had a habit of cracking the solder connections. This was the most common problem i have found with this set. I hope it helps. The board can be a real pain to remove and it will crack easily if mishandled.
Good luck

Not only did this thread start back in 2003 but you all seam to be way off base, Sure these all may be Mitsubishi's but they very from small CRT based to big projection sets. different chassis and there for a different set. If you are looking for the Magic Mitsubishi wand that fixes all sets it simply does not exist. True all TVs suffer from bad solder connections, components heat up and cool down at different rates this causes solder cracks and will cause a intermittent connection and this will shut down the set. But many times when this happens it also will destroy components. And if we could tell by simply looking at a part and not using Test equipment like scopes, digi voms or a ERS meatier. our job would be a hell of a lot simpler. When we say check the Ic 601 in the power supply we mean is the voltage on the input there? is the feed back loop in tact, is the capacitor that filters the feed back loop OK? Is it sending a pulse out to the main transformer windings? Is it properly grounded? Is it receiving the feed back pulse from the secondary to make sure it is regulating voltage? So if you state Yeah I checked it, you probably meen you found it and it looks good, but does it work?
