Mitsubishi vs5071 NO PICTURE!	Can't Post

Well this seems to be a common problem:

My Mitsubishi vs5071 turns on, but there's no picture, only audio.

Many here have spoken of the PIP card, but you see I'm a novice and I don't know what this is! Please explain:

1- Is this a simple repair, and if so, is there a specific part that I need?

2- Can the part(s) be found at a local electronics store, or does it need to be ordered?

3- Is this relatively easy to be fixed by a local television repair shop?

Your explainations would be GREATLY appeciated. My t.v. is just sitting here!

Hi,

Pip means picture in picture but sounds to me like you aint got no High Voltage (HV)

1. If luck is with you it is probably not that hard to fix, chances are it will be some capacitors. But we can only guess at this stage.

2 That depends on your store. (easy to mail order anyway)

3 Like I said we can only guess but it should be fixable by component replacement at your repair shop.

If in doubt.....Leave it to them to fix. Good Luck

Thanks Mr. Blobby...I think I will just leave it to a local t.v. repair shop to take a look at...Lucky for me there's a website that I don't have available to post here at the moment, that DOES have parts for this t.v., but of course they need to know the part in order for me to order! Hahah!

Well, if there's a repairman out there who's familiar with this problem, let me know. Thanks.

If your menu appears or any other on screen display along with audio, your problem is in the pip board. If not then suspect the vertical IC. IC401.
