Need help with repairing Bowing screen and Convergence problems on 52" RCA P52731WK

Hi all, first time poster here needing help with a TV to repair. This will be my first time attempting a TV repair but I have done a fair amount of computer related building and soldering, though I still would call myself a novice at best. So I'll need plenty of help here, since I can't afford to have this repair professionally done. I just bought an RCA rear projection TV, model number P52731 (apparently it has either the CTC169PG or PTK169PG chassie?). I drove it in the heavily padded bed of a pick up truck about 85 miles to my house, where it presented us with a black bar at the top of the screen, as if the image had slipped down an inch. Also, when the TV is on, I hear a fast, high pitched clicking that might be normal, or might be a tiny spark arcing somewhere: I hear a slower but similar click, once every second or so, when the TV has been just turned off, but I don't know if it continues, although it seems to have something to do with static electricity judging by the way the dust in the TV jumps on each click (when it's off, at least). Everything else was fine so I started researching. Since then, the colors have begun to gradually shift around the edges, and a bluish shadow is appearing on the left while a redish shadow is starting to show on the right. The black bar has begun to bow, as has the left side edge of the screen. My research so far has told me that this is a fairly common failing in older TVs such as this, and the common causes seem to be either convergence board, or possibly the pincushion circuit? However I have no idea where these things are or how to check them. I've gotten about as far as figuring out how to remove one of the boards, the one into which all the inputs and power cable plugs into. I've read so far that this could require A: a bit of re-soldering to repair some connections, B: replacing the pincushion circuit, C: replacing the main power fuse? or D: replacing an entire board, either the primary board or the convergence board. My question is, how do I go about testing and repairing this problem? Which parts are which, where do I find replacements, and how do I tell if they need replacing? I'm hoping that since I've caught this early before it gets too bad, I might only have to do a small repair, but I'm hoping to get it done since I don't want to have this problem get a lot worse over the next month and have wasted 80$ on this TV. EDIT: Forgot to mention, I've seen some threads on here with similar problems, but I was unable to answer these specific questions so if I missed a thread where it's answered I apologize.
