ahhh...he's out of material.

One thing I have learned from people like that is you keep throwing logic and common sense and they eventually run out of ways to twist the truth.

You can only comment on areas that are in the "grey" for so long before you hit the "black and white"

As we can see, when it's "black and white" ron cannot bend the topic to make it look like he's the one with the knowledge. He will resort to name calling like "gussie girl" to attempt to demoralize me,and as for Richpart, let's see what he brings to the table.

I actually find it a little discomforting that he refers to me as a woman...makes me think he might be wanting to..well,you know...

Richpart,

You seem as if you have a positive attitude and definitely some knowledge in the TV department. You deliver it with a friendly and courteous demeanor.I don't need any help as of right now with any TV's but will also keep you in mind in the future to ask assistance.

ian33 got HIMSELF banned by HIS actions NOT mine....

That was done by the Forum God...
& that led to him being banned...

Ron,

When did I ever admit I was not a Tech?

maybe not a Tech on Televisions.

Laugh all you want,I would never trade my paycheck for your best one ever...

maybe you know televisions, but I am sitting in a nice house in the Greater NYC area, with a beautiful wife,2 children (one in a top 50 College) but you sir,are keeping it real, boasting about your TV savvy...yes sir,I envy you.

You know,I am about to put my head on my pillow and go to sleep tonight.I will rest just a little bit uneasier tonight knowing people like you ron,are out in society mingling about and associating with people such as myself...knowing full well one day you will snap and do some real crazy stuff.

I am on east coast time, so I am now going to bed.I will pick this up tomorrow.

Ron,

You are really out there,

seriously,give it up.

You are outdated on technology and cannot compete with the younger more "in touch" guy's like Rich and a few others out there I wont mention.

Quote
A "Service Manual" is for repair Tech's...
IF your convergence is "good" or "OK" , then you don't need to go &
mess with something that could give you a bigger problem

This is where he/she wants to get into the "Factory Service" menu to mess with something he/she has NO bussiness to do so !!!!
And he/she says the following;=>...

Quote
Ron,
I want to go into the setup for 2 reasons.
1) sheer curiosity...
2) to confirm everything is correct before I change the red fluid.

This from someone that's NOT a TV tech...
My response;=>...

Quote
Point #1=NOT a good enough reason....Remember curiosity killed the cat...
Point #2=NOTHING has changed in the "Factory Menu" since all you did was change coolant....
NO need to go there & check data that has NOT changed...
And HOW exactly are you going to determine what is correct & what isn't correct ????
Are you NOT satisfied with the info I just gave you concerning convergence ???

Then the screw issue arose...

Quote
I would believe that the convergence has many factors involved with it (position of that fish eye lens, torque of the screws, ect)

My reply , in part as a lot of other quotes are;=>...

Quote
Position of the fish eye lens , yes , but there is NO way to throw that alignment off without causing damage & possibly leakage....
Torque of the screws, etc, NO way !!!

His/her comment;...

Quote
I believe you are most informative on televisions. However,I still cannot help but ask you why you would think that the torque on the screws would not interfere with the alignment of the crt's?
&
If you have a round object(or lens in this case) with a rubber gasket, with 4 equal points of attachment, and if you tighten one screw a little more than the other that is adjacent to it,(or across) the posistion of the focus lens would be effected, therfore changing the angle of the beam, effecting the convergence..and in the case of the crt, possbly causing it to leak.Dont you agree?(many variables there)

The argument is started....
My reply;=>...

Quote
First off , you are NOT installing heads on a car engine here....
As in replacing a head gasket....
We ARE talking about TVs here....
ALL the screws on the lens assemblies are to be hand tightened fully , firmly & well seated....
In my 50+ years of repairing TVs , NOT one EVER required a torque wrench of ANY kind.....

Read the rest here;....
http://www.tv-forums.com/...cgi?post=61147#61147
In the next post he/she REFUSED to understand what I said & he/she said this;=>...

Quote
I do have a $150 special torque screwdriver I use for optics at work...It was not used in this aplication.Using a torque screwdriver when you have no torque specifications is like swimming without water.
Argue all you want...it will effect the lens...period...maybe not enough to be a factor in this case...but it will effect it.

The notion that you need a "torque screwdriver" to install the lenses is ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS !!!!

To everyone;....
NOWHERE did I say that Gussie girl HAD to do the coolant change MY way...NOWHERE !!!!
Read the ENTIRE thread if you don't believe me...
IF you find ANYTHING that EVEN remotely resembles that line of thinking , post a link to it , PM me & I'll send you a $1,000 cash Money Order or any other way you want it...
What did piss him/her off was the fact that I would NOT give him/her the code to get the "Factory Menu" & the issue over the "torque screwdriver" for the lenses...
For that he/she carries on an attack , insulting vendetta that is now in it's 2nd year...
Gussie girl did NOT admit he/she was wrong in another thread & he/she refused to listen to my advice refering to the "Torque" issue...
Gussie girl insisted that he/she needed to "Torque" the lenses...
Karma is a bitch , gussie , Gussie girl you WILL get your comeupance some day....
It may/may not be from me personally....
What goes around , comes around...

Ron,
You only take the quotes you can sway..

If you read the rest of the post on the torque screwdriver you would read that I said using a torque screwdriver without specs is like swimming without water...

meaning... how can you do it if you don't have the water?...aka...no torque specs, not need for the tool.

You have no clue on working on precision equipment.

Your measure of success of a job well done is if it can play Green Acres without it loosing it's vertical hold.

Also,

Re: [Gus67] PANASONIC PROJECTION INFORMATION [In reply to] Can't Post

Actually,if those screws have no effect on the lenses, why is their a convergence menu?

One would think the Engineers who designed these Projection TV's would have thought that they could bolt each CRT in it's respective spot and it's done and over.

Also,

Why does everybody who changes their fluid without removing the CRT's have to re set the convergence?

If your theory held true, you could just screw the lenses back in,top off the fluid and you are good to go...Why would you have to reset the convergence if that was the case?

If you don't think those lenses move over time and cause the convergence to change..and if you dont think that screw torque does not effect the convergence you have a lot to learn about mechanics and optics.
