PLEASE HELP! Samsung un40h5203af Can't Post

This is my brothers TV and it's super sad over it as he saved his money and bought it.

This is what it does.

To me, that ceramic capacitor looks bad. It's brownish and sunk in.

Yesterday we had a power outage where a tree fell across the lines. When the power came back on, he was watching tv for about an hour after the power came back on and it started doing the above in the video. I think it was just a coincidence, but he swears thats what did it.

Unplug the cable between the Power/LED Driver board and the main board. Does the panel light up AND STAY lit?

CNL802, the number on the multimeter was not steady and would bounce around with the "flash" of the tv, plugged in or not and it was different every flash.. 10.x, 5.x, 11.x.... Power supply?

A13V Without CNM803 plugged in: 12.6 (Steady)
A13V With CNM803 plugged in: Bounces from 5.x 9.x 5.x etc...

Since the A13V 'bounces' with the LED Backlights (CNL802) plugged in or not and stops bouncing with the Main board disconnected (CNM803), sounds like the Main board is likely at fault.

It wasn't the main board, it was the power supply. Ordered a brand new Main board and it still did the same, so i went ahead and ordered a power supply from ebay and just installed it and it worked.

Re: [jts1957] PLEASE HELP! Samsung un40h5203af [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi – I have this same Samsung UN40H5203AF and when I disconnect the “cable between the Power/LED Driver board and the main board” the panel lights DO come on and stay on. Can you tell from that what the problem is? Thx.
