PN50B650 VE jumps between 45 and 90: cap, transistor or just replace the board?

Panel sticker calls for 92 on VE, measured value climbs up to 90 and then drops back to 45. Is there a commonly bad component on this board or the power supply board that affects VE thatI should desolder and replace before scrapping the whole board, or is that a fool's errand?
