Panasonic 36" flat screen will not turn on. Can't Post

Hi I was needing info on possible culprit of this problem. I believe it is is probably in the power supply (tripler). I would like to know if anyone knows where I might obtain schematics. Also, if anyone is familiar with this and may have parts let me know I would be willing to buy them from you and pay you for any help. Thanks Patrick.

It's a model CT-36sx31e. I have not checked anything on it yet. I have experience with electronics but I have never worked on a TV. I am still waiting for someone to help me move thing out of the entertainment center so I can open it to check it out. I was wanting to know if anyone had exp. with this mod/prob and could give me some advise. I doubt it is much but I have no TV experience and would like to figure it out with some help. Thanks

I have no common problem data on that model, but I can tell you it's a complex chassis. Even though you know electronics, if you have no experience with TV's I would recommend taking it to a qualified professional. You could not only hurt the TV, you could hurt yourself! Did you know that 32" picture tubes run at about 30KV? That potential is present even when the set is unplugged.

If you insist, you could check the line fuse. If it's not blown, please have the TV serviced.

Thanks Brian I appreciate the insight. I will possibly check into the fuse. I did know that they operated high voltage did not that high and the caps would be able to store that energy after unplugged I heard at one time it was best to unplug with the set on before repair to bleed down stored energy. Anyways Thanks.

Actually, it's not the capacitors you have to worry about (although it's a good idea to steer clear of the larger filters in the power supply!). The picture tube acts as a huge capacitor... the HV anode can provide quite a zap. Most modern sets do have bleeders, but they drain slowly.
