Panasonic CT-27G33W black screen Can't Post
Need help please....Panasonic CT-27G33W.

About 3 years old. Screen intermittantly goes to complete black. No snow or other signal. Seems to recover by itself. Sometimes off for hours, other times for minutes. Sound OK. Channel change OK. Also vertical jitter sometimes. When it's on, picture is perfect.

I checked cable input with another TV. All OK. No VCR's etc connected.

I'm an engineer so curious but no clue where to start.

Thanks for any input.

Do you have a VCR that you could try?
Does the TV have audio/video jacks
for direct hook-up to a VCR?

When hooked to a VCR it works fine until this "bug" manifests itself. The same symptoms as before. In orther words, no difference whether input is from cable or VCR. Pretty sure it's an internal set fault.

harvey4, that model has problems with solder connections on the power relay. Are you losing HV & audio? Regardless, it sounds like bad connections somewhere. Open the unit up & tap around with an insulated stick... I guarantee you've got a bad solder joint. Sometimes a hammer helps!
