Panasonic PT-51HX40 shuts off by itself

I own a Panasonic PT-51HX40 projection HDTV. It shuts off automatically when the weather is warm (close to 80F). I have to turn it off, wait for a while, then I'd be able to turn it back on. If I don't turn it off, I'd never be able to turn it back on. And after an hour or two, this will happen again. The hotter the room temperature, the less time it'll take to turn itself off.
Repair attempts have been made every Summer for 4 years. The probme was never fixed. I bought 5-year extended warranty from the Best Buy. The TV works well in cold weather. The last time my wife called them, she was told that this is a "feature" of Panasonic projection TV, and the TV should operate under 72F!
Does anybody have similar problem? Will this problem shorten/extend the lifetime of my TV?
