Panasonic TX-32C300B Not turning on

I Have a Panasonic TX-32C300B with a problem when i turn it on the red light flashes about 9 times then nothing, i then press the red standby button on the remote and it flashes the same again then the red light stays on, but nothing on the screen. Nothing happens if i press the function button either.
I did manage by messing about to get the tv sound to work and change channels but sound only the screen remained black. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

Update: i have reason to believe this problem is caused by the backlight led so not cost effective to repair. Damn.
