Panasonic TXW28R4DP shutdown fault Can't Post

I get a standby light, I switch the TV on, the screen flashed a blurry white colour for a couple of seconds then the TV switches itself off. Is it the tube and am I destined to go and have to buy a brand new TV? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Panasonic CRTs are usually very reliable so I doubt that it is your problem. I recently repaired a Panasonic with similar symptoms that had a bad voltage regulator which allowed the high voltage to go to high and this automatically shut down the set. Only a tech with the proper test equipment can say for sure. Meanwhile, you might want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/default.aspx?referer=7509165 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
