Panasonic Tau Power/Chirp/Shutdown

Hey guys,
I searched some and saw a post about a problem caused mostly by a quick power on/power off, but didn't have anyone speak about my specific problem. I have a CT36SX31 Panasonic Tau HDTV. Tonight I was watching a good boxing match on HBO and the thing made a chirping sound and shutdown. I unplugged everything to it, replugged in the power, and it will make the click like its about to startup as usual then it chirps and shuts down. I've read some about a fuse, but after looking at it with a flashlight I don't think its the problem. I'm a poor ass college kid that bought this thing with graduation money and I can't afford a repair... and advice on how to troubleshoot this would be great. I have some soldering experience and work on computers regularly. Thanks a bunch guys.
