Philips 28pw6515	Can't Post

I have a Philips 28PW6515 TV with an unusual fault and the local repair shop have no idea. After the TV has been on for a while the letter E appears on the screen and yesterday two red arrows appeared in the bottom right hand corner. Only way to remove is to cycle power on TV remote will not work. The letter E appears in various places. Any ideas please.

Strange behaviour is very common problem in Philips sets equiped with chassis A10.You should change Painter IC (Philips name for micro controller IC) position 7064, SAA5667/5565 in Small Signal Board.This IC is SMD component with 100 pin.It no so easy. I suggest you to call in Philips service.

It was the painter chip got it replaced yesterday. Has anyone ever got any recompence from Philips for this problem ?

What recompence do you mean?Those sets are out of warranty.

Hi

I was just thinking that Philips know that there is a problem with that chip, the repair guy said he had to repair one that was 13 months old, it was just t thought !!
