Philips TR2503 C221 Can't Post

I am revisiting this repair as I never had time to continue the last time I posted and Mel replied.

The set is dead. On pushing on button the set clicks and the red LED comes on for a second then goes off. Thats it.

Mels reply.

I do not have a schematic for that specific model, however, I suspesct that this is one of the chassis that have a high failure rate on the vertical output IC which causes the set to shut down. This failure is usually accompanied by the failure of the + and - 13 volt B+ diodes and there associated fusuble resistors. You might want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.

Can anyone help me identify the vertical output chip and Mel what do you mean by the "+and - 13 volt B+ doides"

sorry to sound like a Dumbass but the lingo is somewhat familiar and it has been too long since I worked on a Tv

thanks

Re: [dhoyland] Philips TR2503 C221 [In reply to] Can't Post

The vertical IC is probably identified as IC7401 attached to the heat sync at the back of the chassis. This IC should have +13 volts on pin 2 and -13 volts on pin 4. D6443 and D6449 are the usual diodes involved as well as R3449 and R3451 which a fusible resistors.
