Hi volks! I have the same TV and a few days ago a thunderstorm has hit our cable. I think it has to be cause since then my colors are missing. The funny thing about that is, that if I open the Menu, than I can see the Menu in colors. So I think it must be somewhere in the receiver. Does anyone know how to proof the receiver and where the hell is that damn receiver? I've also found a very cute TV repair Homepage (http://www.highlandelectrix.fsnet.co.uk/index2.html) with this tip: What I do with colour cast problems :- 1) check the voltage (with no aerial signal) on the collector of all three video output transistors (on the crt base) they should be +-5v of each other if one is different, then swap over this transistor with one of the other two and if color changes, its the transistor, If not then I use a 2k-4k wirewound and touch it from each collector to chassis in turn, and watch the screen (I use a mirror) each color should be equally bright with flyback lines, if not its probably the tube (CRT) faulty. 2) If all of tests are ok, then I find the three wires coming up from the the main pcb to the crt base panel and swap over the green/red and see if the color cast changes If yes then its the chip on the main board, If no its on the crt base board, so check values of all the resistors there. And here my questions about that: 1) how can I find those video output transitors? I found 6 Transistors but none of them looked like "the three VOTs". 2) what means pcb and crt? And how can I swap over the green/red? Btw what's he talking about, cables? Or the red and green transistor? I'm looking forward to read your answerd.
